Jordan Jumps the field in Port Aransas, TX.

13230223_1096231990447482_3099379033945834532_nComing off of his big 2016 Classic win, Texas pro Clark Jordan consistently caught the bigger redfish that Port Aransas and Mustang Island waters offered up than the other pros for his wire to wire and 2nd win in the 2016 season.

What a great event and a fantastic time in Port Aransas the community support for the event was great as the south east Texas coast showed they can produce the big fish too.

Clark Jordan of Pearland Texas led wire to wire and dominated a field of the very best redfish pros in the country. Clark’s winning weight of 61.46 pounds on 3 live redfish a day averaged an incredible 6.82 pounds per fish.

“I got lucky, there are a lot of great anglers on this tour and today was just my day,” Jordan said.

Another Texas pro, Kevin Akin finished with back to back runner up finishes and once again nearly notched his first win on the Elite Redfish Series with a 3 day total of 55.59 pounds taking home the $12,750.00 second place prize.

The 3rd spot and $10,000.00 went to Florida pro, Mark Sepe for his 54.51 pound 3 day limit while the top 5 finished out with 2 time Angler of the Year, Paul Dufrene taking 4th with  51.59 pounds of live redfish for the 3 days.

Finally Victoria Texas pro, Mark Robinson, who overcame dead fish penalties on his way to the win in this event in 2015 brought 47.33 pounds, after dead fish penalties hit him hard again at this event again this year.

The top 5 were joined by 2 other Texas anglers rounding out the Super 7 and making the cut to the final day. Ray Malone and David Christian brought good fish to the scales and took home over $6,000.00 in their 2 paydays. In all, 8 pros shared a total cash and prize purse of $88,750.00.

The second tour stop in the 2016 season was a success and sent the anglers in to their 2 month all star break on a high note. In all the anglers brought in a total of 105 redfish weighing a total of 597.26 pounds and with all but 2 released alive at the tournaments conclusion. What a great event and a fantastic time in Port Aransas the community support for the event was fantastic, the anglers and the tour always enjoy being on Mustang Island.

A  special thank you to the Port Aransas Chamber of Commerce for bringing the event to Mustang Island and for your staff’s exceptional work on our tour’s behalf as well as its anglers, their families, friends and fans.

Next up, the tour moves across country to south Florida and the #BattleAtBradenton2016.
