Hytorc Solo Tour Rookie of the Year – Will Granberry
Port O’connor pro Will Granberry is on his first season on the Elite Redfish Series was looking head long at a chance to win The National Championship. “I just fish simple, if I do what I do and get what I want, you can bet the next day or days I will be doing the same thing.” Will told a very loud crowd at the day 2 weigh in taking place at the Painted Marlin at JIm’s Pier in South Padre Island.
While it would not be a National Championship Title in his first season on the Elite Solo Tour and his first time ever fishing in head to head competitions without teammates or draw partners, Will equipped himself well by finishing off his rookie season in fine style placing 2nd at the National Championship and winning the Hytorc of Texas Rookie of the Year Award.
Granberry compiled a total of 1,621 Angler of the Year points during the 2022 season, good enough for 4th place overall behind Bo Favre, Gary Moreno and Mark Robinson. Pretty good company, Rookie! Congratulations Will we are excited to see what you’ll do in your 2nd season on the tour in 2023.
For his efforts Granberry received all of 2023 entry fees paid ($5,000.00) and took home the Hytorc of Texas $1,000.00 bonus check. Will fishes from many top sponsors and brands but featured Texas Ranger Whiskey as his title sponsor in 2022.
