Eschete Wins All Star in Slidell, LA.

Yamaha Outboards pro, Dwayne Eschete took the lead on day 2 and never looked back. Coming to the scales on the 3rd and final day needing to overcome 9 other Elite pros he had no room for error.

Execution for all of these pros would be at a premium and when the eventual 2nd place finisher had 2 fish die, collecting 1.5 pounds in penalties, Dwayne was able to breath a little easier but there were still some great sticks that would weigh in prior to Dwayne coming to the stage.

The first to hit the stage on day 3 was 10th place finisher after 2 days and the final angler to make the cut fishing out of the #11 Walk On’s Sports Bar boat, Louisiana pro, Nicky Savoie had a good weight, that would eventually land him in 6th place and a nice check for $8,000.00 but it would not be enough to contend for the win, this week.

Check out the full HD episode as it aired on Discovery Channel.

Port Neches pro, Freddy Frederick in the #88 Evinrude Outboards boat zero’d on day 3 but was a great sport dragging a weigh bag full of water across the stage and setting up for the big non reveal in way that left the crowd, wet with laughter. Another angler hitting the wall this week was Laguna Rods pro, Josh Gregory. After 2 fabulous days of fishing, Josh returned the official check point late on day 3 and his catch would not be weighed.

Jeff Steckler of Rockport Texas in the #9 Haynie Boat’s rig weighed in a good limit but would finish just outside the money. Kevin Akin in the #14 Chris’s Marine boat took home the last check, a nice one too, $7,000.00 for finishing in 7th place!

The top 5 for this epic event found Bay St. Louis, MS pro, Bo Favre in the #24 Sport Trail Trailers boat landing in 5th netting $10,000.00 in his while the #7 KSI Specialties pro Jimmie Dooms took home 4th place and a hefty check worth $15,000.00 making his return to the Headturners stage and his first time as an Elite All Star Solo Pro. 3rd place and a check for $20,000.00 went to Paul Dufrene in the #15 frogg toggs Majek.

Paul is from Cut Off, LA and no doubt familiarity of this area’s waterways played a part in his success. The 2nd place #34 Majek boat piloted by “superman” Clark Jordan caught a cool $25,000.00 for his it’s finish while the top spot was captured by the #22 Yamaha Outboards pro, Dwayne Eschete. Dwayne notched his 2nd win on the Elite Redfish Series, taking home a $60,000.00 Skeeter, Yamaha tournament rig plus a bonus check from TH Marine for having a Atlas jack plate on the winning rig and another check for $3,250.00 for having the Amphibia Eye Gear big bag of the tournament. A total take of $66,250.00 for the week.

What a great weekend to be back in Slidell, LA. located in beautiful St. Tammany Parish. Big fish, perfect weather and big checks for nearly 1/3rd of the field. Next up July 19-20-21 the 2nd Atlas All Star Open Qualifier of 2018 taking place in Texas, y’all.

Thank you to Louisiana Northshore for hosting the pros this week and for making this tournament a true head turning event!
