Land / Lloyd Land Show up Big at Showtime!

One of the top teams on the tour and leaders after day 1, Lance Reynolds and Austin Angel zeroed on day 2 and opened the door for Travis Land and Jimmy Lloyd to notch their first win fishing together as a team on the Tidewater Boats Elite Redfish Series. Normally these 2 pros are battling against each other but for the Showtime on Sabine decided to team up.

What followed was a commanding 4 + pound victory for the $60,000.00 Tidewater – Yamaha – McClain grand prize, plus a cool $10,000.00 cash for topping the field in the optional Big Bag and Angler Advantage categories. Land and Lloyd brought 52.72 pounds of live redfish to the stage over the 2 days of this event for better than a 8 pound average, per fish.

Landing in 2nd place was another very good team, Cooper Hartman and JC Algueseva with 48.55 pounds over the 2 days of competition. 3rd went to the team of Debbie May and Jake Jordan with 47.98 pounds. Debbie was thrilled to be able to claim live on air, “I’m so proud to be the first woman to ever cut a check on the Elite Redfish Series, that’s saying something against this great field of pros”.

The top 5 finished out with locals Eddie Roberts and Brian Quebedeaux with 45.60 in 4th place and Jeremy Reeves and Tony Viator weighed in 39.30 for 5th. It was a beautiful weekend with great fishing on day 1 but the west winds continued to blow the water out of several favorite marshes of the pros normally accessible. Thank you to the Elite partners like Tidewater Boats, Yamaha Outboards and McClain Trailers for making this event and its tremendous prize packages possible. We would also like to thank the city officials that allowed us to have this event under certain but necessarily restrictive conditions. Thank you to the anglers, staff and fans that did a great job at following those conditions and to the Port Arthur Convention and Visitor’s Bureau for supporting this event. Up next for the Tidewater Team Open Tour, Slidell Louisiana is next with the Shootout in Slidell event, August 8-9.
