CCA Partners with ERS

MEDIA RELEASE

The CCA and ERS Exclusive Partnership for 2022-23

NEDERLAND, TEXAS. (April 2022)

The Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) – Premier Partners for 2022-23

Elite Redfish Series joins the Coastal Conservation Association to continue producing exciting, fun, and competitive fishing tournaments with a focus on conservation and protection of the resource as well as ecologically sensitive areas where these family fun events are held. The Elite Redfish Series has documented an impressive 98.96% live release rate of all fish caught in its tournaments since 2011. Two of the driving goals and top priorities of the Elite Redfish Series have always been to create economic impact for our community partners where we hold our fishing tournaments with no negative impact on the resource or environment ecologically. Only producing live release tournaments and regulating the boats, motors, and techniques used in our sport are just two of the ways we are ensuring these goals are met and surpassed. This partnership will help build and solidify those foundational principles and priorities. ~Pat Malone – ERS president.

Spotlight – What Is ReleaSense?

A vital part of the mission of the CCA and the Elite Redfish Series partnership is and will continue to be, The ReleaSense initiative. This program provides a platform for anglers, industry, and resource managers to share information regarding the best catch and release practices for many prized sportfish species. ReleaSense will provide an expanding series of catch and release instructional videos, as well as interviews with leaders in the recreational fishing industry, fisheries managers, and expert anglers from across North America. Increasing awareness of this information will improve survival rates of released fish ensuring healthy and sustainable populations of harvestable fish for the future.

There will be many exciting, innovative, and critical programs and events created in 2022 and 2023 to focus on the importance of conservation with advances in live fish care and on the water weighing of fish that will continue the best mortality rate in the industry for the Elite Redfish Series. Education, protection, and where needed, restoration of damaged or deleted inshore grasses, open water flats, and the habitat all sea life depends on for its existence. The Elite Redfish Series is excited to learn and promote the principles that are at the core of the Coastal Conservations Association.

Welcome CCA, the Elite Redfish Series is proud to learn more and put our shoulders to the plow in helping save, protect and restore the resources so many depend on.

5 Objectives –

The Building Conservation Trust (BCT) was created to provide vital funding for grassroots-driven projects that achieve one or more of five key objectives: Restore degraded habitats; Create new habitats; Advance the science of coastal habitat and marine fisheries conservation; Foster habitat stewardship; and Educate coastal communities of the value of conservation.

Stay tuned for more on the partnership that will ensure continued growth for our sport while protecting the resource and environment so that our legacy, together will be one of Coastal Conservation for generations to come.
